About Me
Remy Loet
Many don't know this about me, but I was in fact named after the French Cognac Rรฉmy Martin. So perhaps I am just following my Destiny down this path through each bottle.
I am a First Generation American. My Mother and Father are Cambodian Refugees. They gave me this gift of a name after a dear friend that helped them out tremendously in the starting years. His drink of choice was Rรฉmy Martin. My Parents decided to name me Remy: as a reminder of his help, to give me an “American” sounding name, and as a hope for a more prosperous and wealthy life.
I started working in the Service Industry since I was 16 from a suggestion from my Mom. She was fond of the idea of me working for tips rather than minimum-wage. After trying College and not loving it I decided to just stick with what I have been doing since I enjoyed it.
I was constantly surrounded by Food, Wine, Beverages, People, and Things that I Never had growing up. My idea of the World and Cultures had grown tremendously from what I had thought. Eventually I started working at a restaurant that had a Sommelier.
He took me under his wing, and I started learning more and more about Wine and Food. Then on June 23, 2017 he brought a 2008 Joseph Drouhin Grand Cru Griotte-Chambertin. In a single moment my Mind and World collapsed and then expanded. Then in that same moment I finally understood what path I was too take.
I continue to study, learn, work, taste and pursue Wine and Hospitality. I hope that by you following and reading and tasting one of these wines you may one day have that same experience that I had.
Hank, my dog, also makes frequent appearances throughout my pictures and life. He has a much better nose then me.
